D’Ette Ray-Rice: Owner-Artistic Director

D'Ette, a native Texan, was raised on a farm/ranch in Cuero, Texas. She began dancing at the age of 4. While attending high school she was involved in the band, cheerleading and drill team.

She has been teaching dance since 1975. She has taught in several rural communities in South Texas, and was a member of the staff of Shirley McPhail School of Dance from 1980 until 1993 when this studio was purchased. In 1984 D'Ette was accepted for membership in The Texas Association Teachers of Dancing*(TATD). She has served in various offices including a three-year term as president of TATD. D’Ette currently teaches most of our pre-school and younger classes and serves as director of Rhythm Force.
